Facebook’s unholy war of words troubles young Muslims
After joining the social networking Web site Facebook in April, Essma Bargewee spent hours on the site daily. But the 21-year-old Montclair University student recently deleted her account.
Bargewee, a practicing Muslim, soured on the Facebook phenomenon after getting embroiled in a controversy over Facebook groups denouncing Islam and other religions. In July, a self-described atheist created a group with a name that explicitly curses Islam, angering many Facebook users.
The group’s creator, who goes by the screen name “Variable Variable,” also administers groups targeting Christianity and Judaism as “false ideologies,” but the harsh condemnation of Islam — and the expletive in the group’s title –has drawn fierce backlash.

Have there been no protest from the Christians?
Facebook has a policy of not allowing hate content, I thought.
I can never figure people like that out. Haters usually have some mental problem, or some early childhood abuse issues. Whatever the reason, I feel sorry for the poor fellow and will pray for him.

there was A LOT of contreversy about this group…
before its existence there were NO religious problems on facebook…
none at all…
after a few months and after many Groups against this group (“F*** islam”) were created …the facebook admins deleted it.
but those ppl tried again and soon a group of the same name and for the same purpose (of bringing down Islam) was created…
i visited the group before it was deleted….
Many Muslims joined the group to Correct the Mistakes of those ppl..
they xplained the teaching of Islam carefully yet the Athiests /Non-Muslims continued to “make up” hadiths and quote NON-EXISTING hadiths and change the meaning of Quraanic verses…
however some Muslims just resorted to using Vulgar Language to prove their points..
just like the Non-Muslims in their group…
some also Non-Muslims also “made-up” profiles acting as Muslims and Putting Muslim names….
but calling The Quraan -”Satan’s Words”…
I,a Muslim …never bothered to join the group as i knew that i would still not to change their Ignorant minds…
my God please soften their hearts and let them see the Light…
