I think you are absolutely correct… but lets be honest, Israel (and jews in general), need any support we can get!

No matter how free or democratic Israel is, people will always hate it. A jewish state in the Islamic world is simply unacceptable, and people will sacrifice their own children to destroy it.

Religion makes for strange bedfellows.

Hi Sheilax… you seem to be commenting more on Christianity lately…? Or maybe it’s just me.

With reference to ‘not intending this as an interfaith dialogue’ – if I may make an observation – I am often wondering what you do intend by your pieces.

If I take what I am most familiar with – Christians and their doings – you seem to comment on the more inconsistent and unfortunate episodes. Can the same be said for your articles on other religions?

Hello Sheila,

I just came across your blog and it’s soooo cool, as in you actually get to learn some interfaith stuff. Anyway, I was wondering how you “categorize” your posts here. Where did you find the code?

Also, I am a Muslim and really didn’t know much about Christian zionism (I know that’s no excuse, I was just plain lazy and didn’t read enough). I was always surprised to see Pat Robertson’s sympathy (often a fake one) for the Jews. I didn’t really think about this Christian Zionism in this context. But does this mean these Christians like Pat Robertson want to accelerate the “End of the time” accordng to their belief?

Also, is there such thing/belief as “qadr” in Judaism and in Christianity? Qadr is something that every muslim believes in. I am not sure if “pre-destination” would be a good English word for it. But it’s like while Pat Robertson is saying all the things about “why” this calamity befell Sharon, Muslims would say that “it was all written in his fate a long time ago”! In other words, all these things about our critical sickness, death and all that have been decided long time ago, according to our belief. So, do you know if Christianity and Judaism have this kind of idea? If they do, how likely is it that most practising Christians are cool with Pat Robertson’s judgment call on almost everything?
